Dr. Benedikt Herles

Benedikt joined Vito Ventures from global venture capital firm e.ventures where he was part of the European early stage investment team covering various industries ranging from eHealth to FinTech. Before becoming an investor, Benedikt worked as a management consultant in a major strategy-consulting firm. For his research on the irrational aspects of economic value creation, Benedikt was awarded a doctoral degree from EBS University Wiesbaden. Prior to his doctorate, Benedikt studied Economics and Management at the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, as well as the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. With a passion for writing, Benedikt is also a published author. His latest book about management- and innovation-culture achieved bestselling status in 2013 and 2014. Benedikt loves traveling, sailing, skiing and good food.

Thomas Oehl

Managing Partner

Tommy founded his first company in university and successfully exited it in 2013. His entrepreneurial mindset made him join Uber as one of the first employees in Germany. He developed a native attraction to innovative ideas and business models and has been an active business angel for the past years. Tommy not only holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, he is also a certified beer brewer. If he is not busy hunting for deals, you’ll find him surfing at Munich’s riverside spot Eisbach or challenging himself and others at Muay Thai.

Dr. Markus Pfuhl

Managing Partner

Markus joined Vito Ventures in his role as Head of Corporate Development of the Viessmann Group. Before entering this department he worked in the area of Internet Technologies, Data Mining and IT Management. He received his doctoral degree in Economics from Philipps-University Marburg for his research on Case-Based Reasoning and its usage as a search engine in the area of financial news. He studied Business Mathematics with a focus on Stochastic Theory and Information Technology. Markus is an ambitious musician and is passionate about Nordic landscapes and hiking.

Herbert Mangesius

Associate

Herbert joined Vito Ventures after finishing his doctoral studies on mathematical systems and network theory at the Technical University Munich and at the Université Catholique de Louvain. He contributed to state-of-the-art knowledge in smart grid and multi-agent consensus problems and lectured on dynamical systems and control theory. He gained further work experience with Siemens, Deutsche Telekom Laboratories and E.On Energy. Herbert studied engineering science at the Technical University Munich and at the École Polytechnique, Paris. Additionally, he was awarded an MA honors degree from the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) in Munich. He served in the German army as an alpinist, is an active sportsman, and passionate about cybernetics and information-enabled innovation in science, society and technology.
